Strengthening drought resilience through satellite data and analytics
Climate risks could impact crop production and result in financial losses. AXA Climate uses indices to provide parametric insurance solutions and one of the indices used is the satellite data. Our partnership with Vandersat allows us to obtain specific information on soil moisture that can be extracted from the satellite data. Vandersat provides a high-resolution soil moisture records that is useful in insurance’s quotation process to assess drought risk.
